Facial Makeover Surgery
A facelift procedure, also termed Rhytidectomy, is a cosmetic surgical procedure to reduce the visible signs of ageing in the face and neck (like sagging, jowls developing in the cheeks and face, loose skin, skin fat) to create a youthful appearance. A facelift isn't a treatment for superficial wrinkles, sun damage, creases around the nose and upper lip, or skin color irregularities and pigment disorders.
In this procedure, a skin flap on both sides of the face is raised & pulled back, and tissues below the skin flap are modified to provide the face with a more youthful appearance. Before the flap is sutured and closed, an excess amount of skin is removed.
Other procedures to be performed along with a facelift procedure are brow lift and eyelid surgery to rejuvenate the ageing of the eyes. Fat transfer or fillers can also be recommended to replace the lost fatty volume.
